The Three Burials of Mequidas Estrada (2005)
Stars Tommy Lee Jones, Barry Pepper, January Jones.
1. You know what friendship is, but to what extend is friendship entrenched into your life? Three Burials assesses how far a man will go to fulfill a promise made to his best friend.
2. Redemption. One of my favorite thematic topics in film and literature. How much does one need to do for a reprieve?
3. Desolation, Desperation, and raw Human Emotion. They say that people reveal their true selves seconds before dying; in desperation, this constant condition close to death, you see who Pete Pepper really is.

Crawlspace (1986)
Stars Klaus Kinski, Talia Balsam.
Why is it bucket-worthy?
1. Klaus Kinski. Klaus is one of my favorite actors because he’s mad. He’s bat-shit insane in this one and he looks crazy.
2. The Horror! Oh, The Horror! You don’t need lots of blood and a mysterious whodunit for a Horror to be appalling.
3. Claustrophobia. or should I say….Klaustrophobia…As it’s all set in this apartment building, this film is very claustrophobic. I love when a movie minimizes budget and uses character rather than location and effects to evoke emotion. I especially love when it has the feel of a play. It could be a play, a rather horrifying one.

Home Improvement Tip No. 3: Shop Around

We bought tiles yesterday at a surplus store yesterday for about 96 cents a square foot which we thought was a great deal. But we went to Home Depot today and found very similar tiles for 79 cents per square foot. Doh! Shop around, assess all aspects of the task at hand.
